Hormones Serve as the Foundation For Health and Wellness
Have you ever had a moment where you maybe lost your cool a little bit when you were talking to someone and the excuse is “sorry I’m just hormonal” or “sorry I'm on my period”?
Well I am here to tell you that those statements could not be more false. First of all, when you have your period your hormones are at their lowest. Both estrogen and progesterone drop to their lowest which is what causes your body to be like “Hey there's no baby here lets throw out the nice home we made for it”. So when you or others are blaming your moodiness on your period its not that, your hormones are just out of balance.
Hormones serve as the foundation for women's health and wellness. Doctors have recently come to agree that your period is your 5th vital sign! This means your period, along with all your hormones, can tell you a lot about your overall health. Usually, when you experience certain symptoms it is a sign that there is a deeper rooted issue that needs your attention.
When your hormones are out of balance (too much/little estrogen, too little progesterone or too much testosterone to name a few), it acts as a domino affect on virtually all other parts of your body. Out of balance hormones can lead to everything from mood swings, acne, depression, hair loss, exhaustion to more serious illnesses like bone issues, thyroid issues and certain cancers.
As women it is important to take control of your hormones and period, not only for fertility purposes (if having children is what you want) but for your overall health.
