Deep Dive: Our Founding Principles
Knowledge
During the struggle to figure out what was happening with my body I realized how difficult it was to 1. Get into a specialist to begin with and 2. For their first initial reaction to not be hormone treatments.
I was constantly finding myself researching and asking questions. I cant tell you the number of books and articles I began reading just to try and figure out what was going on with my body. Unfortunately, there is a huge gap in the medical field when it comes to knowledge, education and treatment for women's hormonal issues. Which is interesting seeing as your endocrine system has a domino effect on all other parts of your body.
There are numerous leading illnesses that are plaguing women in todays world.
It is important to arm yourself with the proper knowledge and tools so that you can have a healthy life. It may sound complicated because of all the fad diets and rules you think you need to follow but it is actually very simple! Our first founding principle is rooted in the desire to bring more readily available information to women about not only their hormonal structure, but about nutrition in general.
Moderation
My father has a lot of sayings he likes to keep in rotation. However, there is one saying that has always stuck with me for as long as I can remember. “Everything in moderation.” Whenever it came to food and nutrition he always says this. But this can be applied to other aspects of your life as well!
When it comes to health and nutrition it is important to remember moderation. You want to load up on your vegetables, fibre and good fats but you need to remember that taking too much of them could potentially cause digestive issues and over detoxification. When it comes to sweets, its ok to indulge of course but you need to ensure you are not over indulging and leading your body to further problems.
Here at Miala moderation is key!
Magari (desire)
Being Italian, culture is a huge part of my life. I grew up spending countless hours in the kitchen. Italian culture is also big on balance and enjoying the little things in life.
In Italian, there is no specific definition for Mgari, it is more of a concept. Magari is often used as a reply to questions that deserve more than an affirmative answer, to express the idea of hopefulness and longing. It implies that you’d like something to happen but you are not sure it will, so you wish or yearn for it.
Here at Miala the goal is to help you with your desire and hope to live a healthy, balanced life. It is something we all yearn for and cannot wait to help you with!
